*Sigh**Sigh**Cry*

1. What was your favorite Geology topic this year? Why?
- My favorite Geology topic from this year would be earthquakes, and this is mostly because when I had to do my queations on the game this subject provided the most answers.
2. What was your favorite Meteorology topic this year? Why?
- The thing I liked most in Meterology was the fonts. Just because I thought that was easy to remember after I finally had a chance to match them up and get the questions about them right on my exam.
3. What was your favorite Astronomy topic this year? Why?
- What I liked about Astronomy was the little map where you could see where the stars went. That was helpful because I can remember the giants in the corner, the sun in the middle. And the dwarfs at the all the way bottom.
4. What grade do you think you earned on the Final Exam? What did you do to prepare? Is there anything that you wish you had done differently?
- I dont think I did to good on the final exam. To prepare I looked over the old test we had and study my crosswords. I meant to look on the computer to see which ones I got right but I never go to that. And then my friend let me see her study sheet then I was studying off of that then after my test I looked at the ones I had missed on the practice and I changed my right answers! OH BOY! Im getting a headache just thinking about the fact that I did that now. Then my friends study sheet even had the wrong answers and then... everything is just a HUGE mess. Science is my worst subject since 5th grade.

bang Bang BANG

1. What made the Big Bang "bang?" In other words, why didn't the universe just stay in a tiny little sphere the size of a golfball? More details = more points.
- I think because it had all of those gases mixing together. Eventually you would expect something to happen and not to stay the same. Thats just like mixing together a bunch of gases (highly flamable) and putting it inside of you gas tank. It explodes because... those things werent meant to be together. And definitely not for a very long time.
2. What do you think would happen if you went into a black hole? Scientists only know what happens until you get to the event horizon. Anything beyond that is really just an educated guess. More details = more points.
- For some strange reason I just think of it like going down a tornado. Like being in the middle of a tornado and you just get zapped in. Then you fall from the sky and Bang!!! Yout just in another world. It may be aliens, may be black-holers. You just never know until you free. You might need a gas mask, because Your be going to something like a parallel universe.
3. Tell me what you think about worm holes? When you pass through one, where do you go? WHEN do you go? More details = more points.
-Well of course when I picture a worm hole I think of dirt in the fround where worms leave holes. But every since I read the article about the worm holes I think I have a little bit of a different idea. Okay they are like these invisible holes that float around. Supposedly they can transform you to some other place. Every place besides the past, but they are a bit small. So its not like any one of us could just jump into a wormhole and go to the future. Scientists are still working on that.

.(Let's Planet Extra).

1. 4 Ways To Detect Planet
- Radial Velocity
- Astrometry
- Transit Method
- Optical Detection

2. The one ways that make the most sense would be astrometry. Just by one movement you can know a planets mass and its orbit.

3. The Goldilocks Zone is just saying that the planet is ""Just Right"" from the distance of the homestar.

4. If Gilese 581c has life I think that it would look something like mermaid and merman. Then they would be like fish and have whale calls but they would hav like blue eyes. Yes they would be very intelligent unless their water was polluted then they would have deffects to the brain.

5. Yes, I trully do not think that we Humans are the only things that exist. We are not the only planet in this world, our little NASA agency hasn't been to all of these planets, and if there were once dinosaurs and we come from monkey's then why in the world cant there be aliens.

The Planets

1. What is the primary gas in the Jovian atmospheres?
Hydrogen
2. What is the primary gas in Mars and Venus?
Carbon Dioxide
3. If you had to visit one planet, which would it be? Why?
Give me a solid paragraph. (consider many factors such as location, temperature, atmosphere composition, and anything else you you feel is important)
I Would have to say one of the most livable plantes besides Earth would be Mercury. I only say this because it actually has oxygen.

Search For Aliens

So far scientists have actually searching for aliens as surprising as it may be. They monitor radio waves and even look for clues here on earth. It has said that there has been a little world found near an XL planet that is bit bigger then the earth and may support liqud water. Who knows... these could be the aliens everyone has always searched for???

The Moon

As we all know, the moon is our moon. It is the fifth largest satellite inside of out solar system. It is also the only place besides earth ever visited by humans. It is smaller then the earth and slo 4.6 billion years old. The moon is close to the earth and it has low gravitational forces.

Pluto

Pluto is a dwarf planet. Actually one of the largest known dwarf plantes in the world. It orbits further from the sun then all of the other planets. It was discovered around th 1930.

Big Bang Theory

This the supposed theory of how the world should be. WHen the universe started it was just a big grain of sand. Then it just becamse bigger to what it is today. After that things just get more complicated and there are more questions to be answered.

Titan

Titan is the largest moons of Saturn. But also the second largest moon in our solar system. This moon is bigger then Mercury and Pluto.

Tuning N For:Quarter Finale

1. Which blog was your best this quarter? Why?
I think that one of my best blogs was The Spring into Science blog involving the different type of pollen. Because it is very informing and it looks interesting.
2. What topic did you enjoy learning about the most (from chapter 17-20)?
Why? Include a picture.
I think Clouds because there were many different one and it is interesting. Then it is the one that sticks out the most in my mind.

{Spring Into Science}

- These days in fayetteville the most thing affecting us when it comes to pollen would be the tree pollen. And that pollen giving out tree would be the Oak Tree.

- In order to have a perfect storm of pollen you would mos definiitely need trees blooming everywhere simultaneously, also the best dry and windy weather ever.

- - I chose this picture of pollen because it looks like this cereal I used to eat back when I was younger. This type of pollen is usually found in broken up fossils. Well this type of pollen usually clings to the surface of things. These are very complex and many different types of pollen families are made up out of this. They also contains over 3500 species all over the world. This type of pollen was usually around the jurassic era.

1. "It's Official: Ateroid Wiped Out The Dinosaurs"
- Published By; Yahoo News

2. The author's thesis was... "A giant asteroid smashing into Earth is the only plausible explanation for the extinction of the dinosaurs..."

3. I do Agree with the authors thesis. That is a very explainable and plausible idea. There are other things that could be a result of the dinosaurs extinction. But this one would make the most since plus the scientist agree. : )

. . .Pangaea. . .

1. How were Rodinia and Pangaea similar and different from each other?
~ AFter looking at the pictures of Rodinia and Pangaea you can clearly see the difference. In Panaea everything is together to make one big super continent. In Rodinia they are close together but they aren't all together.
2. When did the tectonic plates appear to move the fastest? (biggest difference between two consecutive maps
~ The biggest difference after looking at the maps were between 080 and 150.
3. Look at Pangaea (250 million years ago). If the continents looked like Pangaea today, what would the world be like? Think about governments, sports teams and leagues, and other aspects of life.
~ If the continents were together like they were now then I think things would be worst. There would be many wars of people trying to fight over land. It isnt like the people would be able to just go to another country because really there wouldnt be another one. Or things could just go how there are now. But instead of being like different countries they could act as countries.
4. Look at Pangaea. If you could pick any place in Pangaea to start a modern civilization, where would you pick? Why? (there is a key on the bottom of the page that explains what the little letters in the maps stand for. For example, "ar" means Arabia.)
~ I would choose Siberian Craton. I would choose this place to live because even through the whole Pangaea process that place stay seperated from the super continent. And I would kind of like the seclusion from everyone else.

How deep is the deepest mine in the world??
-TuaTona gold mine in Africa, 3.6 Km deep.

How deep would you have to dig to reach the mantle??
-35 Km

3. Let's pretend that you and your friends tried to dig a hole in your backyard to find a shortcut to China. The thing is, you guys had special suits that could withstand extreme temperatures, so you would not die. If you were somehow able to reach the mantle, what would it look like? What kinds of things would you see? How about the outer core? Inner core? What would it look like as you approached the surface (the crust) on the other side?

- When we reached the mantle it would just be like a bunch of hard rock. Good things that we brought our Machetes and Hammers. So we would bang into the rock until we had finally passed through. So we would see little glow in the dark bugs, long glowing red snakes, and these huge huge bones. Dinosaurs maybe?

Useful Rocks

??? Mystery Rock ???
-Most of the time pyrophyllite is in a massive form as a constituent of slate and other metamorphic rocks.

Igneous Rock

-Basaltic- This rock is used everytime when you drive on the roads. Also whenever you go into a building you're going in to basaltic rock.

Sedimentary Rock

-Sandstone- This is another kind of rock that is used in the building of houses.

Metamorphic Rock

-Slate- This is used for roofs. So basically again, walking into a house or buliding you would be using slate.

Project That Map!

My favorite map would be the Conic map. I would have to say that because it makes you think of Ice Cream. Another reason this would be my favorite besides looks would be because the view is better over small areas. I think this map would be much helpful to me because I do like to look up small areas often thinking about when I can escape. This to me is by far the most interesting map ever!

.!.!.Science Make The World Go Round.!.!.

I would have to say that one of my favorites out of the four sciences is Oceanology. I would have to say this because the water seems the most interesting. The you would think that water is so simple, you get it from the ocean duh! , it is way more complicated then you think. Water comes from different places. And in some of those different place water will have different things inside of it. That is why I'm am excited by Oceanology! Though I cant swim water is kind of fun!
